Mawe from Hasslefree - lovely!
« on: February 15, 2009, 07:47:38 PM »
Saw these in metal at Hammerhead today.  Great figure for Future War / CoZo scenarios (alien?  experiment in the Bio-Division?  result of nuclear leak in the dogs home?).

Definitely be buying one of these - saving up the pennies!

There are 3 different designs, and they are great fun to paint up.

Went for a more fleshy colour with mine (the resin ones are red, although i believe there are metal ones available now as well?) as if they were some genetic experiment gone wrong, from my not-Umbrella Corporation.

 :)

Dug out some piccies of the ones i did - shows you the other pose.

based on 65mm GW bases, terrain is from Ainsty, Black Cat, the "manhole cover" is a Cold Wars base.

Careful positioning of the drinks machine meant that i didn't need to use the clear stand for the leaping Mawe.

Actually, looking at these makes me think, i need some more of these myself!

 lol

Metal ones are out now - £12 each I think.  Spoke to the lovely Hasslefree people on the stand and they said that if you're going to wargame with them then metal is best.  They do have some likited edition resins but apparently the legs on the leaping Mawe are quite fragile - OK for display but not for gaming.

They've also got some new Grymn coming out soon.  I bought some heavy infantry yesterday and another version of harby (going for the full Hellboy this time - red skin and green-stuff tail).

Mine are the resin, but i think the bigger bases give them a bit more protection - that and not letting my kids play with them just yet.

Have you got yourself a young not-hellboy as well?
