Excellent!

You get extra points for the word Jawohl because it is one of the three or four actual German words Germans used to say in old British war comics.

Others were Achtung! (that's the one they said most) and Kamerad! when they wanted to surrender.

They never said Schäferhund, though.

Your boards and scenery are inspiring and I liked very much the idea of the bird swarm. I have to remember it.

Where are the raptors miniatures from? Copplestone?

A shaferhund is a German Shepherd or Alsation I think. Schweinhund would be good though for British comics. Grimm hiope you read all those Commando comics you bought as I will be testing your command of the British Tommy lingo when you next come over Got und Himmel

Lows, Schäferhund is indeed the word for German Shepherd/Alsation. It's Grimm's catchphrase, he's always saying it.

It's in the way he pronounces Schäferhund. For a native Speaker it's absolutely clear that it's a reference to Blondie - Hitler's pet Schäferhund. And that of course gives the German Hans a completely unique background...

I love this story. If it comes down to pulp stories fpr 28mm Grimm is the benchmark around Northern Germany. Usually I'm both absolutely delighted by his work and absolutely dismayed because I'm far from that quality...

It was usually "Achtung! Spitfire!". I wonder why it was never "Achtung! Hurricane!"?

"Gott in Himmel" was another personal favourite. As was "Donner und Blitzen".

And who can forget "Tommies!"
