Very sad. The Lone Wolf books - and gaming background and miniatures - were great. And the Tabletop Heroes column in White Dwarf was superb too, as were all those scenarios and their accompanying photographs - Thistlewood, Minas Tirith and the like.

Agree with that. His Prehammer games were a huge influence on me as a callow youth as well. A sad loss .

Sad to hear this news.
Like others a big fan of Line Wolf. Without Tabletop Heroes was very much my first guide to painting figures.

Thank you Joe.

Lupo solitario, in Italian.
Very sad news.
I've met him once at a wargame convention in Crema, Italy.
I played all the game books, back in 1985.
Very sad news indeed.
RIP.

The German Lone Wolf, found in the only bookshop the little town I grew up had, was my entry into the world of roleplaying and thereafter tabletop wargaming. Before i found Einsamer Wolf, rpgs were for me exotic things like bards tale on the c64. It really created the door which shortly thereafter hero quest & co opened.

RIP Joe Dever
