Blood Bowl Skaven team painted up
« on: January 15, 2017, 11:35:50 AM »
Third and final team from Black Scorpion Minaitures painted up, the Skaven miniatures from this manufacturer are imo a lot better looking than the recent re-release Blood Bowl Skaven from Games Workshop.

As always you get a base team of 11 players in the pack, this one included 2 runners, 2 blitzers, 1 catcher and 6 linemen. I bought the Rat Ogre as an add on. To make them more competitive you would want to get an extra pair of runners, but the team works pretty well as it is.

More pictures and a rundown of steps to paint the Skaven skin can be found on my blog:

Great job with those! They really match the look of the more 'classic' GW skaven. I personally like the new GW skaven, but I also hold a special affection for the classic style as well - and your models really scratch that itch!  :D

Thanks!
I thought the new GW models were "over dynamic" (if there is such a thing) and shared a bit of the same problems as I thinkt the new Orcs have - they look little as sports players.

I agree wholeheartedly... though IMO that was GW's aim. Once you accept that, it's not that hard to like them for what they are  ;) I have the BB orcs on my painting table waiting for some glue and primer... should be a fun little project.

Very nice work, and I agree that they fit the classic Skaven style well.  :D

Those are great!

Love playing Skaven, the gloriously absurd speeds the entire team is capable of are, well, glorious and absurd. My team was converted from old WFB Skaven by a friend.
