What Colour do you paint inside a mouth?
« on: February 16, 2009, 09:42:25 AM »
Hi Folks,

I'm in a bind as I'm trying to figure what best painting solution to apply for painting inside a mouth. Whether it's a figure shouting or just having his mouth slightly ajar!

I've not really come across figurines with teeth showing , but I'd be greatful for any advice on this too.

Thankyou,

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

I use...

Inside mouth = black or dark brown.

Tongue - if visible = dark red or terracotta

Teeth - light grey or off-white/ivory - same as the "whites" of eyes.  (Never, ever, ever, use white.)

Some examples...

I agree with dark umbre with a highlite tint of pink towards the outer edges and tounge. if you have a hallway mirror, step as far back as you can and open your mouth. You'll see that there is not much red to be seen.
