Irish and Maroon
« on: May 07, 2020, 07:07:23 PM »
I've been banging out some figures during the lockdown and these two sets had been started before but I've managed to finish them off.

First up are a bunch of Maroons from Foundry for playing games on the Spanish main. These guys will be supporting the English in their eternal attempt to upset the Spanish.

Then, sticking with the Elizabethan period, I finished a mob of Gallowglass to take their turn in upsetting the plans of the English.

But posting this made me realise I hadn't posted the Kern I had done a couple of months back so i might as well share those as well.

Hope you are all keeping safe. Cheers.

Very nice work.

Which rules are you planning to use?

I used a Sharp Practice Variant called Sharply Buffed before but it might be Donnybrook or Pikeman's Lament, I'll paint up the figures so they are suitable for all three and possibly even Pike and Shotte if I paint enough.

That is lovely work. The saffron on the Irish is particularly nice.

That's a lovely  Elizabethan Irish Army you have.  Any thought of adding a few cavalry to the mix ?

Also loved the Maroons - who could equally well be used as "Mamelocos" or slave soldiers, fighting alongside Conquistadors in Brazil and Peru (including the post-conquest conquistador civil war in Peru).

They are equally awesome :). I'm trying to resist the urge of doing another project, but seeing your kerns and gallowglasses make me want to start elizabethan project.

How do you do the yellow parts?
