Christmas post compares two rule sets
« on: December 18, 2016, 08:16:07 PM »
will uploading a long post on Christmas Morning, and running a scenario that compares two sets of rules.

I have the games on the table now and hope to have everything ready by Christmas Eve.

There is a brief outline and video trailer on my blog.

Just a reminder of my Christmas day post.

I have now played out the One Hour Wargame rules and Black Powder rules as two games covering the same scenario. There is video coverage of both, plus 4 supporting video clips on related matter.

All the video will be embedded in a post that sits at around 5500 words at the moment (it just needs a tidy up). Anyway, the bottom line is that amongst the pre-Christmas hectic activity, I have managed to draw all this together..

I reckon the post should provide a good hour of entertainment. I am not trying to make this post out to be anything special, it is just one bloggers recognition that there are plenty of people with time on their hands on Christmas Day and some new wargaming material will be welcome on a day in which hobby related internet activity substantially dips.

Good idea thanks for thinking of us! I might sneak away to watch your videos and have a read at some point in the day....Merry Christmas!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

You did warn it was a big one! I am going to have to swallow it in bits. Looks good so far though I am always interested in rules comparisons.

Thanks for exploring it and for posting. My YouTube viewing stats are strange. twice as many clicks on the OHW video than the Black Powder video, not sure whether than means some people went back a second time to look at OHW or whether they gave up and went no further. Possibly a combination of both, so perhaps, regardless of good intention to give plenty to have a go at, the post has proven too long for some.

The OHW has had 49 views so far and it continues to creep up, so not sure whether this is a slow burn post or whether this format is not worth repeating.
