Ebor Miniatures = Exquisite!
« on: December 20, 2016, 03:00:20 AM »
Just received my order of a British WSS foot regiment, officer on standing horse, and positional gun and crew!  The figures are phenomenal!  Exquisite detail and flashless to boot .  Absolutely, the nicest looking figures I have ever seen...

I've painted quite a few over the last couple of years and they are very nice indeed.  see my blog http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.co.uk/

I have just two criticisms -

firstly the metal used is too soft for the size of the musket.  Musket is very flimsy and with the soft metal prone to bending and breaking (so far I've only lost a couple but now base my firing figures with a deeper base so the musket is not overhanging the leading edge)

secondly the original casts of some of the horses gave them very weak ankles.  Particulalry for those poses with only one front leg attached to the base.  Nick did resculpt some of these and are much better.

I'd also point out that Nick is great to deal with and his "Brigade Deals" make his figures even more attractive.

In wargaming as in life - don't accept cheap imitations
