I got a Numinous Occulum as gift from a friend. This thing here:
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Numinous-OcculumI think it's a great terrain piece, with lots of character, that will suit perfectly Frostgrave.. Also it provides an elevated area, also great for treasure placement.
Anyway... the terrain piece has its own set of rules (for AoS), it focuses the arcane magic and allows wizards next to it to also cast a specific spell as they know it (rules are free to download from the page linked above). This makes me think on trying to replicate these properties in Frostgrave. For example: +1 to all rolls to cast spells if within an inch from the structure? Or maybe it could grant any Wizard inside the globe to cast Awareness (given the lore, a Soothsayer spell seems appropriate) as if he knows it.
But, more important, this could be applied to many other terrains, making for a more interesting landscape, providing further motivation to move around the table.
For example, the Gormiti "dwarf fortress" that seems quite popular among Frostgrave players could provide Enchant Weapon and Armour spells. A cemetery could grant a Raise Zombie spells, we could have terrain that grant protection against magic, and so on...
What do you think?
