I had this really cool space ship model, a mixed bag of minis, and the rules. I pictured a "repo man" style group, bounty hunters for ships rather than felons. In flipping through the scenarios, the "Boarding Action" scenario sounded perfect.
For the attackers, I started with the Mercenary squad from the book, except dropped BB#3 and Big Brother. I replaced them with the single character "Robot Enforcer" as it fit the model better. Changed leader's weapon to something appropriate for boarding action. (Gave them all non-penetrating ammo).
For the defenders, I used Vivan Roo's squad straight from the book.
The first play-through was a solo test. The attackers got smeared and never made it very far. That's the write-up in detail. But then my son finished his homework and came out to play. He ran the attackers much better than I did, and squeaked out a victory by the absolute narrowest of margins.
We both had a blast and the momentum swung back and forth several times. We also learned that firing Heavy Laser Cannon inside a spaceship is not usually a good idea. And never underestimate the mouse.
