Here goes nothing.
I trawled through several potential ideas which I have wanted to build, and I think an ornithopter is the one I've put off for too long. This is going to support my sci-fi scenery (an amalgam of Judge Dredd/Rogue Stars/Terminator Genisys/Necromunda/Frostgrave) (yes, Frostgrave!), and will be in 28mm. I found a few images online which I am basing my general idea on. Corrupting its name, I'll be calling it 'the VIXO'*.
*No relation to the gaming thingy!

There's no end of ornthopter pics, the Dune ones being most abundant - but this one caught my eye in particular.
It won't be identical, but I'll be taking some ideas from this:

I'm scouring the place to find bits in my various storage boxes, in particular in relation to the wings. I think I've come up with half a dozen different ideas on how to attach the wings - I'm guessing that by the time I get round to it I'll have enough for a book.
