Small Skirmish Gaming Board
« on: September 22, 2017, 05:20:05 PM »
Okay...perhaps I am little nostagic...but I loved the old .45-Adventure Games.
With 2-3 Minis per side, super small board and a cool Story over 2-3 games.

So I sat down and scraped a little styrofoam....;)

The plan was to make it somehow modular and transportable not just a plain mat or so....

So I grbbed a cutter and some 3cm-Styropor....

After a little sand and paint I had 3 small tiles ready...

You van arrange them in different settings.

Or like this...

One of the tiles I painted in blue grenn, so that you can use it as a river.

Or a rocky coastline.

And every thing ffits in one of my small transport boxes...:)

Looking forward to see how this will play out....;)

Cheers,
Don

Indeed. Now here is a man with Da plan. And the will to execute it. Well done. ;-)

That's top. I like really small boards too - I use skirmish rulesets designed for small boards that have inches as the units, then play in 15mm and switch inches for cm's (so a 2x2 becomes 24cm x 24cm) so you can have really small terrain. I'm going to knick this though - the use of the blue side is inspired!

Such a simple idea but excellently executed.

The options you get from just a few bits is ace!

Please post a game report soon!

Superb - idea and execution both!

The coastline one just screams "attack from the deep"! You could get a great skirmish game going with some Deep Ones/fishmen/slann/lizardmen (marine iguanamen?)/whatever.
