Just a few up date pictures.
Couldn't keep the cat out of the way, still it does help scale the thing.
It's my own fault I did state I'd build the dammed thing from a tray sat on the sofa.

Mark.

Stunning.

I look forward to seeing it painted.

It's really nice model. Would love my own one as it goes.

Sweet design, I've been getting more interested in vintage/retro sci-fi looks. I really like the aesthetic of this one.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Cat tax paid, I see.

That looks great, straight out of Space 1889! I assume the roof comes off or something like that, given the fully painted interior we caught a glimpse of earlier?

I'm glad you chaps like it. Because I'm beginning to think it hates me.

There's a lot to do ,so instead of worrying about deadlines I'm just plodding along. If I make the deadline then I make deadline. If not then I just make it.

I can honestly say that this is the most dumb arse way of making something this size. So if you want your own . It would be easier to build with mounting card than cereal packet card as you've no need to laminate card into thicker pieces.I've lost count of how much super glue I've used.I know I've used 24 out of 30 ,7ml bottles I bought extra thinking that should  be more than enough. But i cant remember just how much I'd used before I bought the extra.
Revising the estimated glue needed to around 350ml.It sound a lot but I've only spent £9 and its over 2ft long.

To answer your question yes ,there is an interior to the ship .To give you an idea of size the bridge can comfortably fit four 25mm round bases. The interior is equipped as per the Space 1889 rules suggest.Although the pipe organ proved a pig.As its no bigger than an upright piano. As did the high back arm chairs. As of now I've not added any of the plants required. This is intended as a playable interior,so the whole build is being treated as a scenery piece rather than a scale model.

As for the base, it will be of a terrestrial  nature, As I've no use for it otherwise wise ,as its to be used as its in atmosphere flight rather than  the Ether. So there's the two prop driven engines on out riggers. ( rules do fudge over how your props survive re entry but hey ho.)

As for the wires , the only thing complicated about them is picking it up whilst is not got a flight stand.( there's often a twanging sound follow by profanities' when I try and move the dammed thing)

Still a border line idiot.

Mark.

Thanks to the cat. It took a nose dive of the top of the fish tank this morning.I've managed to patch the nose up,its not  symmetrical anymore, and the boiler can no longer cleanly rotate through 360 ° (seems to be nearly 2mm shorter)but I think it shouldn't be too noticeable once the rivets are on.

Sounds like cats are the primary cause of damage in this year's LPL entries!

The eagles nothing fancy just four layers of card. With the leading edges rounded off.
