The Harry Potter miniatures game by Knightmodels
« on: January 08, 2017, 06:42:42 PM »
The creators from "the Batman miniatures game" and the "Superhero miniature game" Knightmodels will start a new miniatures game this year. A Harry Potter game.

I am looking forward to this game. And the first model they showed is great. Alastor "madeye" Moody.  :o :o

After seeing the announcement, I got this, and my daughters and I built it together.

Not perfect, but still a nice backdrop - and almost the exact scale, I think!
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

This will sell much better than most tie-ins, there is a huge fanbase.

I think this might be the next 'big thing' in bringing new players to the community. If the marketing is done right, that is, and fans outside the gaming world have it brought to their attention...

I'd be interested/excited about this if it weren't Knight Models doing it.  :-I

Nice enough although quite a static pose.  Are th eye doing the same thing as Warlord are doing with the Doctor Who models? Try to appeal to fans who will just want the models as figurines to display rather than gaming pieces.

The minis look WONDERFUL, but does Harry Potter fit in the Fantasy category or is he Steam Punk?

I hope their "engine" gets the feel right. There is much room for an RPGesque specialization, advancement and minion army tie ins. I hope they'll implement those.

Perfect would a Starterboardgame to get some Newbies in. Think TWD:AOW. But not with KM I guess.

Steampunk. lol

You must be joking? How come...?

If I remember correctly they call it Urban Fantasy.

If anything "the The Conflicts that came in from the Cold". Wasn't Harry born 1986? There must have been some impact on Cold War. Trust me it was all Voldemorts grand Masterplan.

Ok looked that up actually the book took place six years before release of the first book. So even more evidence.  ;D

Price tag is going to be... disheartening...

Well, at least I am not going to collect a huge pile of lead without painting it  lol

They are probably doing the full monty - collector's pieces AND more dynamic sculpts - how many versions have they done of Batman, until now? (And remember how many versions of the Fellowship GW brought out on the film license)

If I remember correctly they call it Urban Fantasy.

'Contemporary Fantasy' seems to be the expression agreed on.

...well the books are usually listed as "Young Adult"; I figures Steam Punk or Victorian was less insulting. The question was is this the right spot for the thread or should it be in Other Adventures? There is at least one Harry Potter thread there.
