Plastic Cowboy Conversions
« on: January 13, 2017, 08:41:17 AM »
Here are my 54 mm Cowboy/Western Town conversions and stock figures.
I'e painted them all in single colors, just like the plastic cowboys of olde.
More pix will follow.

Last one.

Here you can see the guy in the middle is an original casting. The horrible fleshtone plastic color is why everyone got painted.
This was a simple conversion. I cut his hand off and replaced it with a hand holding a gun.

The figure on the left was made from the figure on the right with a few replacement parts.

From left to right:

Removed the right hand and pistol from this figure.

Middle figure donated his head.

The far right is the original figure, unpainted

And here you can see that the head was replaced and the hand with the flintlock replaced by a six shooter.
Then painted in Snakebit Leather. Great color for the Old West.

And that's how it done.

Here is a stock figure on the left and the converted the right. I sliced the head off and replaced it with a head that already had a hat on. I then cut the top of the hat on the ground off and replaced it with a small pot from some other figure. Looks like a pot sitting on a platter.
Although the guy holding the gun may need to use that pot, if he's facing Doc Holiday or Billy The Kid.

Alamo... A cool 2 piece conversion.

Atlantic
I like Atlantic figures. This is the hard to find mounted 7 th cavalry set. Just thought I would throw that in.

More another time.

That's a seriously clever paint scheme.  It certainly does harken back to the days where I had so many of those fantastic Cowboys and Indian sets.

You've got a great looking collection!

I'm really amazed how well the single color painting does its job. Brings back happy memories of my childhood when I found my Dad's collection of plastic Indians and Cowboys.
