Retro Raygun
« on: January 14, 2017, 01:38:49 AM »
All,
I'm not sur eif this is the right spot for this.  I've recently gotten into Hydra Games Retro Raygun.  I've painted up two forces/factions, and look forward to th efirst game with my son in law on Sunday.  The rules look like a lot of fun, and the figures are a joy to paint.  Here are samples of my efforts so far -  https://www.flickr.com/photos/92816988@N08/

This is the perfect place for this entry, I think. Very nice painting work, those figures are really fine!

I've never seen Hydra NOT welcome on this board, though I'll admit it would fit perfectly well in others. Plenty weird, for instance. ;)

Does look like you two should have a blast, and don't forget the B-movie weird accents.

Have you tried War Rocket? Not perfect, but can be a lot of fun, and I guess what I'd like to see is what you'd do with paintjobs. Just see if you can paint the Imperials NOT red and gold. It's been done, but not often.  lol

They have to be that colour. It's the law.

Tsk tsk, such a conformist...  ::)

Actually, that ISN'T the norm; usually, and you can look at the piccie on Hydra's home site, it's red-framed-in-gold. Impressive fleet you have at that.

Pirates in all red work, but if the Imperials are red with gold, I think the site's Pirates in black with red is darn good.

However, once again, I'm jealous.

Nick, inspired?

Yeah, I wanted my pirates to be all red so the Imperials needed to be a bit different. Plus, not to put too fine a point on it,

The galacteer ships are supposed to look like the good guys from Space Angel

and other classic all white space ships. Plus it meant I could paint them the same way I just did a bunch of Stormtroopers. When all you have is a hammer...

Fair dinkum; it's the red-lit cloud it has to pass through that makes War Rocket Ajax appear mostly, well, red.  ;D
