Blasters Needed
« on: January 16, 2017, 11:53:23 PM »
Okay, I've been looking for weapons that look a lot like the blasters from Star Wars, both pistols and rifles...along with, potentially larger options.

Now, this doesn't need to be that exact because I'm putting together a "future" setting for Star Wars, but I'm trying to find weapons that fit the general aesthetic...preferably ones that can be bought as bits or conversion kits.

Like the rifles, they might be what I want.

I hadn't seen either of those sites, thanks for the links :)

Loose weapons are always useful, and if they happen to look Star Warsy, so much the better :D

Well the stormtrooper rifle in Star Wars was a German MG-34 machine gun! :D

Warlord Games does a weapon sprue for £4.00 that has one each of the MG-34 and MG-42 machine gun

Hasslefree does a bunch of SF weapon packs in metal - I believe the Macrocosm ones listed above were originally done by HF.

The "rifle" was a Sterling SMG with greeblies - not an mg-34.
Other troopers did get something like the mg34 though.
The support weapon on one sandtrooper was a lewis gun.

Heresy Miniatures also do a variety of Space Opera/Space Western weapons: link. I've been pestering Andy for ages to do his drum-mag autoguns on sprues, but he never seems to get around to it... I'd suggest that if you're interested in more stuff, then shoot him an email/tweet - if he gets enough interest, it may get done!

Then there's lots of stuff here from Anvil Industries, and here from Kromlech.

Finally, as many Star Wars weapons were just gussied-up WW2 and 60s-era weapons, there's also nothing stopping you using some historical weapons with a little bit of conversion and a "sci-fi" paintjob. If you don't fancy doing all that work yourself though, try looking at Dreamforge for some German WW2-inspired weapons and kits (which might also do you for future Storm Troopers too): link.

The "rifle" was a Sterling SMG with greeblies - not an mg-34.

The standard stormtrooper E-11 blaster was a Sterling SMG with greeblies.  The heavier DLT-19 long rifle was an MG-34 with greeblies.  Both appeared in Star Wars - we're both right  ;)

Warlord Games have just released weapon packs for their SF game Beyond the Gates of Antares.  They range from elegant high-tech through organic to heavy and blocky - quite a range of styles:

Is there a US supplier for Macrocosm?

The shipping is kind of crazy for getting the blasters from them, though the rifles are pretty much exactly what I want...
