RSO Pak-40 - Finished!
« on: January 24, 2017, 05:57:44 PM »
Ballardian spotted this WIP in a group shot of AFVs on my work bench from my 28mm Flakpanzer 38 (t) thread. I was waiting until the project was complete, but I might as well come clean.

This was built mostly based on Jacob Lotz conversion article on the Warlord Games site (link: http://www.warlordgames.com/workshop-jakob-lotz-rso-pak40-conversion/). The AFV cabin is entirely scratch built per Jacob's methods. Since I was re-using the barrel from the Hetzer III conversion to the Flakpanzer, I had to also scratch build the gun mount and gun shield. Like Jacob, I also made the AFV cabin and original cabin and the gun all mounted with magnets so I can get double duty out of the vehicle.

Here are some WIP shots in both modes, AFV and transport:

The double duty thing is very clever... :o
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
