@GamesPoet: Thanks very much!

@DintheDin: Cheers. Oh yes, the horses. I hate them. :D Nah, i don't hate them, but I painted SO many of those, and there are exactly two different variants of them across the whole range: cuirassier/Reiter horses with pistol holsters and Dragoon horses without.

@Littlearmies: Cheers, have indeed not. I do the period (well, TYW) in 10mm myself, these 15mm ones are commossion work. It's cool that there are so many beautiful 15mm sculpts out there for the period.

@mweaver: Thanks very much. After the ~350 Horses I painted over the course of this project I better know how to paint them. :D

Okay guys, here's some Army Shots! I put links to the full sized pictures underneath each picture.

This was the test shot, with not even half the units on the field:

Now for the rest, still not featuring all the units, simply because there isn't enough space:

Absolutely stunning. Wish my BF&S looked like that!

Those buildings are lovely, where did they come from?

@TheBlackCrane: Thanks very much. :) Yes they are lovely indeed. They're from the Vollmer Fachwerkdorf set ( https://www.besserepreise.com/9590/modellbahnen/vollmer/vollmer-spur-n/vollmer-spur-n-h%c3%a4user/vollmer-47734----fachwerkdorf.htm ). Not cheap at all, but wonderful model kits. I originally got them to go with my 10mm Thirty Years War collection. They're N scale, so technically ~1:160, but for regular 10mm minis the buildings look way too big. The doors are big enough for a 10mm dude on a horse to ride through if he ducks a little. So I'm using them for 15mm minis and with those they work. Of course there's the whole problem that one figure not representing one man of course, and once you get to buildings you quickly go crazy trying to work out which size a building should have then. :D Anyway, great model kits. I almost don't regret having gotten them any more. ;)

@DintheDin: :D Cheers!

Now all you need is someone with a suitable amount of opposition to make it worth putting the whole lot to battle!  Which I think we'd all love to see. o_o

@Landsknecht: Thanks very much!

@Arthur: Cheers!

@Matakakea: Thanks, I'm sure that'll be doable. The minis are packed and will be sent home to their owner tomorrow. I'm doing the period (well, early 17th century) in 10mm myself. :)

@Bunny: Thanks muchly! Hey, you know where to find me should you decide you want to outsource all that boring building, cleaning and painting. ;)

Right, before I even finished the Habsburg army I was contacted about doing some Polish-Lithuanian troops. It's the limited edition skirmish box and here's a first WIP of the minis:

http://www.tabletopwelt.de/uploads/monthly_2017_07/wip1.jpg.91ca239b444711919b06d716381f8517.jpg

What's left to do is the mounted Cossacks. The riders are finished, but the horses still need a proper lick of paint.

Hope you like them so far!

Fun Fact: This is the first time I'm painting winged hussars. Yeah, weird, isn't it? Never painted these chaps before. I did learn one thing from the mandatory opening of ~20 tabs with reference pictures: Among Nationalist numpties who defend the occident by talking incoherent trash on the internet those chaps are about as high up there for making silly memes and recycling artwork as templar knights and the bloody SS. Anyway, all the numptiness by some people aside of course the Husaria is an interesting topic. Anybody got any good literature suggestions (apart from Ospreys)?

No replicas, I just like the winged hussars, you know it from Vienna  ;)
Yours are gorgeous  :-*
(few of the 28mm I've ever painted, were winged hussars)
