Another Late Roman Tower ( Grand Manner 28mm)
« on: January 27, 2017, 12:56:51 PM »
Hi guys, this time a Western Roman Empire Watchtower from Grand Manner. I am quite pleased with the finished result and of course with the quality of the resin of this manufacturer... its pricey, even more when you order outside the UK, but well, it worths it :)
It may be a center piece for any late antiquity or dark age gaming table, Saga or Impetus or Hail Caesar

Hope you like it !

That's a beauty! Really like how you did the painting on the damaged plaster.

Well the tower is very much better looking than the first one you posted, but the groundwork is every bit as nice. Beautiful in fact  :)

How do you do your large boulders? Are they carved lumps of foam, or actual pieces of rock?

That's just lovely! The ground work is ace! :-* I see you can remove it from the base, what goes in, in the towers stead?

Fantastic! :-* Excellent brushwork all around, however you job on the plaster really strikes me. Looks great! I love Grand Manner and have a lot of Dave's stuff, but you're right, outside the UK it gets really pricey with postage. I wanted a piece for 25 GBP and the postage was more than the piece; my solution is just to save for a bunch of pieces to justify the postage :D

Yes, I agree the quality of the tower itself is much better,  the ground work is sculpted on the resin, so I only painted over it. In the other tower, I used plaster moulds from Woodland Scenics
