Baker Co. Winter War KS
« on: January 28, 2017, 03:55:44 PM »
I was a backer for Baker Co.'s Winter War Kickstarter a couple of years ago and am still waiting for an item. I was told last year that the vehicle in question was being cast by Aintsy (if memory serves) and it would be several months before I would get it. Is anyone else still waiting for items from this KS?

Oh yes, I've only ever received a section, & some of those were badly miscast  >:( >:(
I do feel for him as it all spiralled out of control (it's probably nearly bankrupted him & made him depressed) It wouldn't be so bad if he actually kept updating people as to what's happening

Are you sure they were miscasts? It's hard to tell with a lot of their stuff at least judging by all the pictorial evidence available.

I think I got my Finnish company (or infantry elements anyway) but not the Soviets, and not the vehicles.  The story was that Ainsty were contracted for the vehicles and had been paid to do the work, but the schedule was such that it would take months (if not years) to plow through.

I've written off the prospect of ever getting the remaining figures, but still have some hope of some of the vehicles one day appearing.

Certainly a lesson for the rest of us in not getting carried away with freebies and swaps.  I'm sure in many cases he'd have been making a loss in fulfilling pledges as the raw material & third party casting costs of the extras/swap options must have been more than the corresponding pledge.
