Some good stuff there IW. I have a small collection of caps at the moment as well. I use em for holding minis to paint. Better manipulation when spinnign the model.

Now i ask yeah. For me though, i have put two together like you have for ages with one thing in mind.......sci-fi wheels. What ya think?   :-)

Well I got them finished.  Not bad for an afternoon project.

I did a dark burnt umber wash then added some sludge seeping out on a few of them just for a bit more interest.  Some of the little signs got pretty damaged but I think that actually looks better.  Booty worthy a space pirates hold.

Sounds like it would work to me.  My next bottle cap project is to make cantina tables out of the caps.

You know, working in a pharmacy, I have access to all sorts of lids similar to what you have above, if you want some variety and some interesting alternatives, PM me and I will drop a few in the mail for you.

It sucks that we cannot recycle the lids, but the drug bottles themselves we do.  I bring them home and glue models to them to paint, it is very handy and very free, too.

Mmm, yes. Those are handy too. It is a shame only the bottles can be recycled. They make nice raised areas on walls and hatches. We only get some when one of my siblings or mother gets sick enough to warrant their use.

Here is an example of using bottle caps as wheels. Someone used 3ltr bottle caps for wheels for their Not-Aliens APC for their GWish LV-462 project. Wish they would have finished it.   The modified infantry is pretty sweet as well.

I use the lids from 3.4 litre (6 pint) milk cartons to add variety to my sci-fi barrels.

Good idea with the coke bottle lids - you can't have enough barrels.

What a great idea. I'll have to start collecting those myself to make some up. They are perfect. Thanks for sharing!!

@Ironworker:Excellent idea. What glue did you use to stick them together?
