Painting Graffiti

Years (decades!) ago in the old Gangs of Mega City One Mongoose forums there was a poster who showed pics of incredible city boards and terrain he made. There was fantastically painted graffiti all over it.

Unfortunately, those boards and images are long gone. I was hoping to use them as a resource. I want to say he painted the words on walls/the ground in one color, then did edges in a darker or lighter shade. ugh! I don't recall which. Either way, it gave the graffiti a fresh, authentic look. Moreso than just painting words with one tone.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some great graffiti work for near future games?

I've used Blair Line and they work well. Unfortunately a lot of their decals have flat undersides, but in general they rock.

I've also used Rub-on stickers by Busch Model but unfortunately these are discontinued.

One of the things I've seen done that came from Dr. Faust's Painting CLinic on YouTube is to print what you want as the grafitti out on an ink jet after mirroring the image. Cut the image out as cleanly as you can, then you give it a layer of modpodge (If it has a lot of white in the image, use the white drying version, if not, use the clear), then press it firmly onto the model where you want it and let it dry entirely.

Then use a small sponge and work at the printer paper with water. Go slowly and let it dry often, the paper comes off and leaves the ink behind and you need to seal it.

I believe that it's demonstrated in video.
