Wot happened to Westfalia Miniatures Napoleonics??
« on: January 29, 2017, 06:31:39 PM »
Bonsoir Chaps,

Actually it's "Good Evening Chaps" as I'm in rather damp London at the moment.

I was perturbed as the rather excellent Napoleonic figures had disappeared  from the Westfalia site.

Fear not as that nice man Kawe informed me that:

"I passed the Napoleonics on to my dear friend Sascha from Black Hussar
as he's got the time to proceed with the ranges.
I will do Napoleonics as well, but less army choices and more single
miniatures that I've always wanted."

Hurrah!!!!

And Black Hussar have said that they'll be available again soon plus the long awaited Lancers and Hussars!

http://www.blackhussarminiatures.de

Superb.

Can't wait but I better get on with painting the Westfalia Saxons that I've already got.

Cheers,

Paul

I already mentioned that development in your Saxon 4-pdr thread, Paul  ;) :

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=97415.0

I wonder if the takeover by Black Hussar will result in a decrease in prices. Westfalia miniatures always were priced in Sterling because Kawe pays his taxes in Britain. With Black Hussar now in charge, I expect the prices will switch to euros and perhaps be adjusted accordingly (before Brexit, Kawe had to keep his prices relatively on the high side to factor in the pound/euro exchange rate : that will no longer be necessary now with the company being based in Germany).

All in all, this may be good news for continental customers - and UK punters will most likely still be able to get Westfalia figures from Empress.

All we need now is confirmation that Paul Hicks will finish the rest of the Saxon range.

Hi Arthur,

Doh, I'd missed your comment!

Thanks for all the extra information that you've given us about next steps for Black Hussar.

Light Saxon cavalry on then horizon??!!??

Cheers,

Paul

I of course have said I would love to continue producing Saxon sculpts. I can only sculpt what I have been commissioned to.

Could a KS be used to provide funds for Paul to sculpt?

I imagine that will be up to Kawe and Sascha. It's a great range. With Sascha now looking after it, I'm sure he will be able to free up Kawe and both will be looking to add more to the range.

I'm sure that's not an issue.

Bonsoir Chaps,

This exchange is really getting somewhere.

I look forward to further progress and more figure releases.

Will Eureka still be the caster and distributor in Oz?

Edited for dimwittery. It's Murawski not Westfalia that sell via Eureka.

Thanks a lot for the interest.
It is a pleassure to get involved in this great range developed by Kawe, Paul and Alan...
As mentioned at many places before I'm looking forward to get the range at its high level assured by
the work of Paul and Alan...
The Saxon light cavalry is already on it's way to the caster so I hope to release the sets very soon.
At the moment I'm thinking about the new sets to come and commissioned.

For already started ranges a kickstarter is not really an option.
But maybe for additional small projects.

Because you (the community) are the important part of such projects, I will be very pleased for any comment or idea for missing sets or projects you ever wanted to see alive...(Please write me a PM)

Best wishes to you all!

Sascha

Bonjour Sascha,

Re: "The Saxon light cavalry is already on it's way to the caster so I hope to release the sets very soon."

Wonderful news!

Maybe Saxon artillery train outriders soon too please?

I'll also e-mail you about Saxon heavy cavalry.

Cheers,

Paul
