28mm or 40mm?
« on: February 07, 2017, 05:07:27 PM »
Thinking about getting back into wierd war, having done both scales before but sold them on, what do you think? I love graven miniatures figures and they have more of an occult feel which I love, or 28mm as there's more ranges available?

I also did both, but sold my 28mm as 40mm is just so damn nice :)
Also Jim Bowen was my favorite sculptor :'(
There's a lot of 0 gauge figures which fit in with 40mm, I'm currently re-painting my 40mm in a toy-soldier style.
Commission Painting undertaken, PM or email me.

I also like Graven Image but the company isn't around anymore.
Someone else picked up the line but do not make all the figures from the line
anymore. A shame as I was getting ready to buy some.

Even though the majority (99%) of my stuff is in 28mm, I have a fair few 40mm for when my eyes really cannot tolerate 28's any more.

And the larger scale is much more forgiving with the larger areas to try things that I would not dare in 28.

And Hellboy is around in 40mm too, which is a great bonus!
 ;)

My only worry regarding 40mm is are there enough different sculpts/poses available to have a platoon level game (30+ minis)? (I can see that a smaller skirmish game of 10 or so a side would be possible.)

Red looking forward to seeing them!!

As for figure poses I think with 40mm you can have smaller scale skirmishes, but graven do have quite a number of different figures, I think that's where I'm headed, looking over my old pics today on the yahoo site, can't believe I sold them! Although I think I would gave repainted them!!
