No, I hadn't heard about those...! I don't see them on the Zombiesmith site. Do you have a link?

The full range of Hanna-Barbera adventure figures (+ villains).

Jonny Quest, Herculoids, Mighty Mightor, Birdman and so on...

Hear, Hear! We say "yes!" to a range of Jonny Quest-inspired figures (and/or a range of Venture Brothers-inspired figures...).

I was also thinking that a range of WWII Jack Kirby Newsboy Legion-inspired rag-tag deadend kids with weapons wouldn't go amiss...!

Do you know about Zombiesmith's Venture Bros inspired figs, right?

I quite like them and plan on getting a set in the near future.

I would also love to see some natives. Maybe Maori or North American Indians?
Old Glory Miniatures makes a Maori Wars range.
http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/products.asp?cat=222

Wargames Foundry makes some very nice looking Native Americans.  I don't know of anyone who makes Aztecs though, which is what I'd like to see.

Maori Wars stuff might work, although it is over 80 years in the past by the time you hit the pulp era. One way you could do a lot of generic loin-clothed warriors would be to have replaceable heads, with either different headgear or none at all.
You're right, the Maori Wars are a bit out of period.  Maybe you were thinking of Moro Warriors from the Phillippines.  In the Spanish-American War range of Old Glory Miniatures they have Moro Warriors that would be closer to the pulp era.

More figs to represent "The Yellow Menace".  Dr. Fu Manchu and his band of cutthroats type of figs...  Real mean lookin' Chinese gangsters of the '20's...

You can get some of those from Pulp Figures - but also chinese gangsters in 'european' clothing - and some japanese and chinese diplomats/spies...
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Outpost do a very good range of Aztecs, Tlaxcallans, Tarascans, Mayans and Incas :

We'd like to see a decent range of Dan Dare figures - preferably not the recent animated version, the original Eagle version.

And Eureka does a beautiful range of Aztecs, which I can vouch for personally.

Many thanks to all of you for your responses. As if it wasn't obvious, I'm in the midst of planning something. I have received a great deal of insight and comradely wisdom from fellow board-member Malamute here, and I want to publicly thank him for that.

Nothing definite as yet, but the cogs are slowly turning, and all of your ideas are not only greatly appreciated but will definitely be kept in mind. I haven't seen an idea here that I don't like... Without playing my cards to early, I will say that some of the ideas expressed here are -very- similar to something I'd wanted to tackle, so you may well see some of these assuming this project gets off the ground.

The next step will be getting the final concepts to gel together and begin the quest for sculptors and casters, as well as a re-assessment of costs involved.

I do have two questions, for those in the know from a legal standpoint, as I haven't had much luck tracking down this information independently (nor has my wife, who is a Lawyer as well as a gamer, and pretty well connected to these things). Does anyone happen to know the current status of the Solomon Kane and Cthulhu mythos properties? Are they "public domain", or are there official license holders who must be paid for rights, etc? I'm aware there's a Solomon Kane movie in production, but that doesn't mean much as far as the literary license goes.

-Doc

p.s.

On a slightly related note, I think more Venture Brothers sculpts would be great. If only we could get someone to do Henchmen in "Butterfly Suits"... Mothmen, maybe? Just a thought.

Yes there are not enough unarmed civillian/victum figures out there. I would like to see more Pacific/South Sea islanders. Moros, Dyaks, head hunter types. And more Chinese civillians.

The Cthulhu mythos rights always seems to be of some question  -try here. http://www.aetherial.net/lovecraft/

As to the Solomon Kane, http://brian.carnell.com/articles/2009/the-copyright-status-of-robert-e-howards-works

Both of these links are from a similar thread on another sight. The issue appears to be quite a frequent one.
