ECW civilians & ladies?
« on: February 21, 2017, 08:39:13 PM »
I've got a small collection of Warlord ECW/TYW figures, mostly plastics, that I originally bought for Field of Glory: Renaissance before realizing that that particular set of rules required far, far too many figures for me to ever actually field a usable force on my own!

As a result the Warlord stuff got shunted into a box and has sat there for several years now. I've recently pulled a few out to paint in between other projects and would like to get some skirmish-sized forces going.

To add to the various soldiers and officers I've already got I'd like some civvies, male and female. I'll probably get the Warlord clubmen box for some lightly-armed men, but could folks point me towards ranges that include women (armed or unarmed) and unarmed male civilians for skirmish gaming, please!

Size-compatible with my existing Warlord figures, obviously.

Thanks!

They can be a bit larger than Warlord but Redoubt do a load of useful civilians.

Bicorne Miniatures have some nice sets
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Foundry also have some useful ones.  Have a look at my ancient thread "At Hobs Hill, 1645" for some of them:

Colonel Bills has some unique sets: musicians and dancers; a witch ducking ...  The sculpts aren't to my taste, but yours may differ.
Back from the dead, almost.

Redoubt and Foundry are wonderful although Redoubt tend to be on the larger side....

Thanks for the leads, folks.

I'm not seeing ECW civilians of any flavour on the Bicorne website, though. ECW range here: https://www.bicorne.net/acatalog/English-Civil-War.html

I did finally find the Colonel Bill's range: http://shop.colonelbills-store.co.uk/epages/4f27da57-42ee-48c0-9cb8-22c9dd921a68.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/4f27da57-42ee-48c0-9cb8-22c9dd921a68/Categories/86/Renaissance_FiguresAccessories

Interestingly, there's reasonable ranges of Elizabethan civvies (too early for ECW/TYW) and lots of Three Musketeers/Louis XIV swashbuckling types (too late for ECW/TYW) but a bit of a gap in the market for the ECW/TYW period itself. Odd.

I hope I'm not dragging the thread off topic, but what Elizabethan civilians are there?  I know only of one pack from Foundry's Casting Room range (which isn't very good) and one from TAG (the not-Blackadder figures; the "Tudor Crowd" packs are Henrician rather than Elizabethan).  Am I missing something?

Wirelizard: Bicorne do make a few ECW civilians. Look under Wagons+++ on their website.
