A couple of Tigers
« on: February 26, 2009, 03:28:41 PM »
Got quite a few of these from Necrostone at the York show and have been playing around with colours and a different approach. No washes etc. just painting and lining by hand. Great fun as quick little jobs but does it work?

the winter one looks much better in the hand :?

In my opinion, I like them!

The only constructive criticism would be the position on the base on the winter one....touch too far back...its probably my OCD, lol

I normally paint a lot darker style so I would be doing some light washes to tone the colours down in patches.

This is purely conjecture and I still think you did a great job!

More please

Winter camo always looks cool on a tank! Nice job.

What scale are these and what did you do to get that effect on the top tanks base?

Yes they are 6mm so the bases are about an inch long. This kind of stuff is not often based but I use them as ground scenery and targets for aircraft really.

The basing on both is just polyfilla (spackle? or something like that stateside) applied with a spatula and dry brushed up from dark to light. Its not obvious on the winter one from the picture but I just put white paint highlights on the natural colour of the filler.
