Elusive to come by information on this period no doubt mercenaries where used as they had been for century's before the fall i have commissioned  some figures for my own collection this is my take on those mounted.
I will post some pics of the foot once they follow.

Those are some mighty fine looking figures! I do hope they'll get into production or something, otherwise this is some horrid form of torture  :)

About the question of the armour. Agincourt armour looks to be too old and WoTR armour seems too mordern, so I would go for Hussites. Closer to the 1450s and already look more Eastern European. Mixed with figures from TAG or Old Glory's Turks, Hungarians, Romanians and the likes to get an ecclectic bunch.

I think the Turkish style would have been dominant, then the Balkan styles and lastly the Western European style.

Lastly, perhaps we should call them the City-state of Constantinopel  8)

Very nice. I was going to post some Angus McBride art stills but your model's convay what I was thinking.
And yes the city state of Constantinople describes it perfectly at this time.  lol
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I myself have pondered about doing such a Byzantine army as well.
I was thinking of the armoured stradioti from Perry's and perhaps the Italian mercenary packs as well;
the Hussites from 1st Corps (some of them look like the images from those Ospreys);
Turks, Hungarians & Rumanians from TAG or Old Glory;
and this head set from Studio Siberia.

The first two heads in that set look like this 1438 medaillon of John VIII Palaeologus when he visited Italy.

And there's also this flag from Adolfo Ramos Flags.

Someday I will have made this army as well...

Could you show of the Siberian heads when they arrive two of them look useful.

This may be a good picture reference?
