The final piece for my basic dungeon set (I already have lots of painted resin doors so I haven't made new ones) is the raised focal point. Either a room on its own or a raised part of a bigger room I like to use it for big boss battles.





Also doubles as a box to keep the small bits together.

Siesta cork. If you buy £50.00+ they deliver free otherwise there's a £5.00 charge. I buy £50.00 worth every two years or so depending on what's going on hobbywise.

I've wanted to try my hand at making some Matakishi-style cork terrain and buildings for quite a while, but have had a heck of a time trying to find a US equivalent to these cork floor tiles.  DIY stores here (such as Home Depot) seem to have cork floor tiles that are too thick and incorporate a hard backing that won't work, and cork rolls, tiles, and bulletin board material from other sources such as general hobby stores are either too thin and flimsy or if they are thick enough they seem to be too "crumbly" and not dense/sturdy enough.

Has anyone had any success finding such an animal in the US?


EDIT:  Using some additional details supplied here: http://www.matakishi.com/corkbasics.htm, I was able to locate some tiles from a US online supplier that might do the trick (http://www.corkstore.com/Products/Cork-Decor-Glue-Down-Floors/Cork-Decor-Floor-Pebble_2).  Ordered a box of the "unvarnished" version and will see how they work out.

They look like they should work. It's so difficult to tell from the tiny pictures these people provide.

I've found something rather similar that comes in 4 packs at CVS...though they tend to only have afew in stock at a time and it's in their "art/office/school supply" section when they have them.

After a year of using my dungeon tiles I find I now need...CAVERNS!

A really quick project so I can provide some 'natural' areas (mainly for my Pirates game). Simple cork work aided and abetted by the 3D printer.
