Pirate Cove - NEW PICS
« on: March 01, 2009, 11:58:09 AM »
The second part of our retro D&D game is in April and we're playing X1 - Isle of Dread. I've taken liberties with the scenario and set it around a pirate cove.

Here are some early planning pics of the set up. No miniatures in this lot yet, but lots of terrain, over a 5 x 4 table including: Ainsty, Geboom, Dwavern Forge (there's a whole layout inside the fort too), Miniature Building Authority and PMC. The sailing ship in some other shots is converted from a megabloks toy, but I still need to do something with the sails - any tips on rigging most welcome!

Damn! that a pretty nice set up you got going on there.

It looks very very good ! :o

I love all the little details and of course the trees...palm-trees. Where do you got them from ? Or are they selfmade ?

Wow, that's a great table. I'm looking forward to see it full of swashbuckling minis.

Mac - yep clear resin for the water - although the boards at the front were made by TM Terrain, so I could be wrong.

Opa - Some of the Trees are from Grimm and the others I picked up a Salute last year and I'm ashamed to say I can't remember which trader.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

:-* Me like, me like so much I am almost monosyllabic lol

I think that a set up like that would make even the most miniature shy members of my roleplay group use miniatures - Might even get them to stay in one place for a time, as well. Instead of deciding to head off to the other side of the world to go to the beach as they have done in the past.

Are the walls with the houses on top Dwarven Forge?

One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

Wolf - yep the internal layout of the Fort is also DF. Excuse the mess in my loft!

Thanks for the info. A for the record, a cluttered loft is just the sign of genius at work.... and if I could convince my wife of that I'd be in a much better place!
