(KICKSTARTER) Atlantis Miniatures Dwarfs Miniatures
« on: March 08, 2017, 06:40:38 PM »

Though some of you might be interested in this kickstarter, launched just today. Resin figures, a different aesthetic to the norm I think, and some lovely beasts!

Take a look here.

And please, if you don't like kickstarter, or resin, or the prices, or whatever - that's fine, just move on, try to resist telling us you won't be backing it. Thanks.

Owww, I really love those Warbeasts. Hogs and Rams look good aswell, but those Warbeast really are a must, highly otogonal and brutish looking  :).

I backed their previous KS campaign for the Orcs/Goblins and Trolls. Was slightly late on fulfilment but all completed and all promises kept. A great company to deal with.

I got a few Orc characters and Trolls........they are superb miniatures, probably the best 28/32mm fantasy models around, bar none. Wonderful detail and faultless table friendly resin castings.
The monsters and creatures are huge, amazing value for money.

They look very nice for dwarfs.  I do wish I could see the mounts all lined up side-by-side to get an idea of how big they are relative to each other.

I'm obviously all about the female minis so.......

WOW!  :o :o :o

Those lady dwarves are immense! The men dwarves are immense too but..............wowowowow.

I was following their renders on Twitter too and they are fantastic. I think they'll do really really well.

I picked up a goblin figure from their range, to check out the quality of the casting. Short version - it matches the render well, good level of detail, soft resin. Longer version with pics and waffle on my blog.

The kickstarter marches on, the latest update includes some nice civilian type figures and a promise of tweaks and changes in response to backer comments. Which is a very nice quality if you ask me.

Nice to see some civvies, shame they're not metal though.

What is "soft resin" like? Are we talking bendy PVC-like material, or just something a bit less brittle than the usual stuff?

It is nothing like the bendy PVC.  It is strong and has a very slight ability to flex without snapping or bending. It holds the sculpted detail superbly and is suitable for cutting, filing/sanding as you want (although on the castings I have there is barely a trace of flash and no mould lines to worry about).

So comparable with Fenryll and the later Prodos stuff, I understand? If so, that's very good material... :)
