What to use for the roofs (Sarissa Far East Range)?

does anybody know, what to use for these palm roofs, that sarissa did use?

Are they laser cut card?

Looks like common or garden cardboard, probably from a cereal box. Whatever it is, it ain't especially convincing, it's far too regular and oblong to start with. You'd be better off cutting palm leaf shapes yourself using afore mentioned cardboard or using the towelling/ teddy bear fur method.

The uniformity of the paper strips could imply that they came from a paper shredder - if you've got access to one it'd save you some time cutting them - then all you'd have to do is make them a little more ragged.

That looks an awful lot like the thin card craft strips you can buy from the Poundshop.
