I like the THW reaction system games, but I've never been able to totally sell our group on them.

A new, and free, edition of CR could be just the ticket.

I actually got my gaming buddies sold on the reaction system, however they're probably the most lazy wargamers in sweden so they never show up and play  lol

We've used a number of the THW reaction based sets (BPB, Nuts!, FNG etc.) and even with some hard-of-thinking players (albeit with some guidance!).  They just seem to produce the right results.  It's great they're making them more accessible like this!

Well I've got my copy of the rules Rev and I have to admit that the principle looks interesting, so you might be able to sell me on it :D

This is probably a good time to mention that I didn't quite understand how to play Nuts! (although I am trying). I think the main problem was that I was moving troops one at a time, while the defending squad all got to shoot back... which as I think back now was quite stupid of me.

I am very eager to get a hold of the CR3 rules and give it another go... I really like the idea behind the system, it's quite refreshing.

The 'Nam campaign we started Tuesday is using FNG, another variant on the THW system.  So you'll get a go at the game next week if you're about.  :)

You should be glad the rules aren't in pink, if she has started on the Disney printing.  :D

I was very tempted by UW, if the FNG campaign goes well, I'll certainly pick it up.

Everyone enjoyed the games this week, even if I did spend far too long jumping back and forth through the book looking for rules.  :)

you may need to download it again - there was an update to the rules on Feb 28th, including some serious clarifications and adjustments.

well worth it. the book is much better written than the easier ones and the reaction system has been refined so that it's much easier to learn and use than before. I will use much of it for my other THW games...

Thanks for the update! I noticed how much better it was set out straight away. Some of the other publications were a bit messy.
