Very nice indeed. One small niggle. Horses don't have visible whites in their eyes.

Very nice indeed. One small niggle. Horses don't have visible whites in their eyes.

People have been telling me this for years (I paint horse eyes the same way as Jeff).

It's a myth.

Horses absolutely have visible whites in their eyes when they're scared or stressed - which, let's face it, would be the condition of most horses in battlefield situations.

Try a Google image search for 'scared horse face'. You'll see highly visible whites in almost every photograph.

Splendid brushwork.  ;D

I also paint. A dot of white in the corner of horses eyes when I paint them(ahem) ;) I think they look more realistic that way.

Yep, that's a fact, I've researched it up close.

Excellent work Jeff  :-*

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys :)

Very nicely painted.
May I ask who makes the figures?

Wargames Foundry produce this, it's quite an old Perry model I think. It was originally made for the Sudan or Afghanistan but I filed down the putees into boots and painted it for the Zulu War, I think I got away with it  ;)

Very nice work, Jeff!

Actually the "British limber at full gallop" is from the Wargames Foundry Boer War range, also sculpted by the Perrys, back in the day.  I've always felt it was one of the nicest pieces of colonial era equipment on the market, and you have done an excellent job making it fit the Zulu War!

Tried that, I keep getting photos of Sarah Jessica Parker.
