First try of the entrance. Finally a hut with a way in  :D

I have not decided if the door flap will be under (as here) or over the hull...

It is decided. The door will be a flap hung on the outside, similar to the ones found in native American tipis. In my case I have used sabertooth fangs to fix it to the wall leather and added some spiked branches as weight against wind...

I will make a removeable version too, if you want to game inside!

Have been working on ground terrain texturing and started making the base for the small hut today. How do you like it? I think it makes the hut shine  :D

And if you need to game inside, just take the hut off!

I am really excited how well it turned out so far. I want to add some minor stuff like sleeping rugs and a fireplace in the interior part. Hope I will be able to get them done in the same quality level.

Progress update on the small huts. I worked on the ground textures quite a bit to make them look good, tweak the details to the right size and amount and I am very happy with the results now.

Here I have the 6x6" tile and the stand alone base for the small hut. You can switch the fireplace and the sleeping rugs on or off or print them as completely separate tokens. I have a cold and glowing fireplace and a couple of fur textures.

I also worked on a subtle grid (if required) that shows enough but not too much.

And finally I completed the first set of finalized sheets: the variations of the walls! (The final product is without watermarks and blurring obviously  :) )

Here you can see the saturated and desaturated version of the base colors brown, red and dragon?-green.

Each color variation can be modified with dirt and lightness. The top row has dirt activated and the bottom shows increasing lightness from left to right.

All in all this gives you 36 possible combinations to choose from. I hope this is enough for a small or large village  :)

Still a little more to do before I can release but it's getting closer and closer!

They're coming along beautifully. I'm wowed.

Thank you!  :)

I have built a couple of huts and also made a small terrain field with the ground tiles I created to see how it looks.

Here the goblins are paid a visit by the dwarves. And they seem upset! I am guessing the goblins took something from under the mountain which they shouldn't  :D

And then I tried a little fun with GIMP adding a digital background. This time with paper minis from David Okum and Jess Jennings.

I am almost done with the set. Just a couple of minor things to complete, but I am quite happy with how this all turned out so far.

Looking great!

I would just recommend painting the inner side black.

Those are great, this really changes my perspective on paper terrain.

Thank you  :) For certain things it is a great and affordable medium and usually quick to build. When the geometry and the textures are right one can do interesting stuff.

Of course there are limits. Small detailed sculpts are hard. Also non-flat surface are a challenge. Although I have seen guys build amazing small detail stuff out of paper. But I would go crazy. I prefer the easy to build projects  :D

Yep, that's another option if you don't want to use the textured interior. Just make sure to use a not-bleed-through marker!

In the meantime I have added another option for the "tentpoles": the much requested mammoth tusk variation!

It's not live yet but will be added to the set next week as a free update.

I have added them to the set and will now go on to preparing the larger hut. First I need to work on the stone wall texture I want to use as the foundation of the hut. I imagine that when the savages stay in one place long enough they do prepare a little foundation for the larger houses!

I have completed adapting the leather texture to the larger hut roof! With all the variations it took a while but now I have a first build to show. No poles added yet spo you can see the roof also works without them!

With that out of the way I can now start working on the walls.

Were the larger huts ever finished and released? I thought I had already bought them but can't find them anywhere...
