They do look good. They have captured the period feel very well. I'm sure I will succumb to a box.

But I'm disappointed by the lack of hats!
Still only 3 hats for the 3 figures.
Same as on the main infantry sprue - just enough hats for the number of figures, and all the hats are different styles and shapes. So if I want to produce a more uniformed-looking regiment, I'm going to need to buy several boxes - or wait for them to produce extras. 
A tad annoying.

The huge advantage with plastic (apart from price) is the opportunity to customise by assembling figures in lots of different ways, and 'accessorising' them differently.

I'll reserve judgement until I get them in my hands, but from looking at the sprues, it doesn't look quite as though the ideal degree of flexibility is built in with these...

But we shall see.

I wonder if you could use the separate heads Redoubt supplies for their ECW stuff with these plastics to get a more uniform appearance...

I believe Warlord will be producing accessory sets of separate hats - in metal!

 

Kind of defeats the object of plastic figures? Hey-ho... We'll see...

We're planning to use them for the French war of "la Fronde" which was a anti-Mazarin revolt during the reign of Louis XIV. The king was still a child and the real power was with Mazarin successor of the infamous Richelieu. Amongst a few other battles there was an affair in Paris. We just need to add more plumes and make sure that the long hair is used on the figs, for the rest they are quite similar. Vae Victis did an article on one of their latest issues.
