Magazines and books?
« on: March 18, 2017, 05:45:02 AM »
Are there any companies still producing high quality books or magazines focused on miniature painting? I've found a few but they're rare now. I was hoping some others might exist I've not run across before.

Pen and Sword published this in March 2016.
The author is Javier Gomez, better known in wargaming circles as El Mercenario.
It is a very good book about painting technique aimed mostly at 28mm but it also shows how to do smaller scales.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Painting-Wargaming-Figures-Javier-Valero/dp/1848848226/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489816481&sr=8-1&keywords=painting+wargaming+figures

I have just received a contract to do a book but that will not be out until the end of 2018 and that will be a kind of recipe book for a popular historical period.

Painting War supplements are one example. I think most painting information is available on the internet so it is not really worth publishers producing magazines of this sort. I think WI do a painting book?
