Those do look good. I refuse to be tempted into ancients but those make it tricky.

Well, they would probably do well for Broken Legions or a variant of OGAM

Thanks for the note, great looking figures.  As with their other recent packs there seems to be a plethora of spare standards and trumpets -  an excellent idea.

I wish they would get on a produce their Gauls and mounted Greeks instead of yet more dastardly Romans!   And maybe Persians in due course..............

Absolutely fantastic.
Slightly static poses, but did I read they were also doing an attacking set?
But the level of detail and general feel of the figures is tip top.

Sorry to bang on about it, but when you compare these to one or two other plastic sets that have been the subject of discussion here over the past couple of days, the massive gulf in quality and sheer amount of content in the box between some of the best historical plastics and the shoddy also-rans becomes glaringly apparent.

I have no use for Imperial Romans at all, and these have almost zero kitbashing potential. But they look so good, I am not going to be able to resist a box  :)

I like these.  :)

Having just succumbed to the recent Warlord sprue sale and cobbled together some of their hobbity legionaries for Broken Legions, I rather wish I'd waited for these instead.

I like these also    :D

However, I am going to wait until their Gauls come out, then make a purchase.

Humakt, i dont know if its your interest but did you see the Victrix Iberians?
They are in action poses both infantry and cavalry and they may change your opinion about static poses.

Richard, the romans can always be part of a winter convertion or two with cloaks and bandaged heads plus some wild germans attacking them... ::)
Or who knows some roman street gangs and the legionaires being called to put them to order. :D

The set is wonderful. I like the idea of a separate command sprue - and what a command sprue! :-*

I think they are a bit 'static' because they're meant to be advancing. I guess the new set 'attacking' would be more dynamic.

For me it's also a temptation, even if I'm not into the imperial era.

They are indeed meant to represent marching or advancing legionaries and thank God for that.. I've had enough of those 'dynamic' poses from another manufacturer.

Anyhow, I've ordered mine. Shipping will commence in about a week according to Victrix.
Can't wait!

Cheers

I love these marching ones.  They are absolutely cool.  I've built and painted probably a 150 EIR Warlord ones and have probably 40 more to paint, these in my opinion superb.  These will definitely find a home in my hobby que.

I'm also eagerly awaiting for the attacking ones as well.  And the gauls look brilliant.  I read somewhere that Victrix thought this was there best kit yet, it looks like it to me.

Are you all looking at something different to me?
I agree that the details are good but, again for plastics, dreadful posing.
Wooden, stiff, and unnatural.
What is it with plastics!?

I still haven't bought a box of placcy miniatures and these aren't going to change that.
Although I have no interest in these the poses don't look too bad; perhaps not dynamic but rather natural if a little too casual for troops in battle. Suggesting the problem is one of plastic models is not really accurate though; there are plenty of poorly posed metal models/ranges out there as well as well posed plastic kits.
