Swamp Fox
« on: March 23, 2017, 06:40:32 AM »
Some of you might have seen this model before. I've taken new pictures, as I have learned how to use the camera properly.
This is Francis Marion, the "Swamp Fox". Painted by John Bryant.
The figure is mounted on a completely scratchbuilt base done by myself.

The colours do pop a lot more and the sharpness shows off more of your skill with the vegetation.

That's lovely. I like the Spanish moss effect on the tree. Do you remember who makes the figure?

The Francis Marion figure is a Fife & Drum miniature :

Aaron, The "tree" is just twisted wire covered in modelling past. While the paste was still wet, I shook on several different colored flocks. I locked it all in with hairspray. I am happy with the result.

Oh, I should mention that I mixed a dark brown acrylic paint into the modelling paste before applying it to the wire.
