Hello people! i would like to show the modular set of 3D printable terrain (WIP) that allows to build  generic concrete defensive positions.

Core sets:

Set 1 *Modular walls to make enclosed bunkers (roof should be made of cut hard paper/foamboard) + enclosed concrete nest

Set 2 *Modular perimeter walls + dragon teeth/anti vehicle + small concrete nest

Set 3 *Turret Bunkers: 1 body with 3 different weapons (180mm artillery, single and double  60mm AA turret, and 152mm AT/anti building turret)

Set 4 *Auxilliaries: radars, diesel tanks, diesel generator, secret doors/trapdoor and ilumination/reflectors

To come (as stretch goals):

*Laser guns, telescope options for the turret bunker (set 3)
*Small remote controlled vehicles for set 1

*More options for the "Set 4" small turret.
*Fortress walls modular set (set 5)

NOTE THAT:  there will be "brand new" and a damaged version for each part, both versions coming together in each kit/set.

Kickstarter preview page link will be shared in few days ! :)

3D preview:

Printed and painted prototypes.

Interesting concept.

In set two, do you mean "perimeter"?

I do love the generator, very useful as an objective for raids etc.

The guns do look a bit thin, they should have internal calibre of about 3mm, 4mm and 1mm with a suitable thickness of barrel material. Thicker barrels would make them more resilient.

Is there space for their internal workings (receiver, ammunition feed, crew etc.) inside the turrets?

The flak guns could do with more detail as they are exposed (have a look at the Rubicon wip on a quad flak gun http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=438.msg6717#msg6717).

It is one of my complaints about The Great Womble's vehicles that there is no room for the crew, or the main gun recoils through the commander.

Good luck with your Kickstarter.

Oh yes, the turret bunkers have space for the crew ;)

BWT thanks for the typo!

The turret basket is a nice feature.

The turrets remind me of the works of Studio Ghibli (Laputa especially). This is good.

You might want to look at the pivot arrangement, at the moment the piston arms support the entire weight of the gun. This will put them under a lot of strain and not help accuracy. They whole gun should be hinted at the balance point, have a look at the counterweight on a 17 pounder. If they are balanced they can be easily posed.

My google-fu is weak at the moment, but I should either have or be able to find photographs of large calibre gun mounts. Admittedly you would not be able to see them in the turret ^___^.

I used as inpiration for the piston system the caesar howtizer:

https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fkhmeronlines.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2016%2F05%2Fcaesar-155mm-howitzer-caesar-sel.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fkhmeronlines.com%2Fcaesar-155mm-howitzer-caesar-self-propelled-howitzer-archer-artillery-system-2%2F&docid=uYKO1fWzOiX5wM&tbnid=LU68RVaJliJQoM%3A&vet=10ahUKEwjGisfU9IXTAhWIh5AKHY-uCdYQMwgrKBAwEA..i&w=1920&h=1080&client=firefox-b-ab&bih=767&biw=1600&q=caesar%20howitzer&ved=0ahUKEwjGisfU9IXTAhWIh5AKHY-uCdYQMwgrKBAwEA&iact=mrc&uact=8#h=1080&imgrc=LU68RVaJliJQoM:&vet=10ahUKEwjGisfU9IXTAhWIh5AKHY-uCdYQMwgrKBAwEA..i&w=1920

In the othr hand the roller rail, the retainer rack etc etc i use the m107 spg.. but i had to use some "free will" to adjsut it to the turret height.

All the turrets options have that cage, (taken/inspired by the tanks cage), with different design depending on the turret, they even come with 3 sizes/heights of  seats for the gunner, commander and loader ;)

Oh! its weird becuase in this pic form the same page, it does have the pistons:

http://www.army-technology.com/projects/caesar/caesar1.html

however yes i see what you mean, the problem is that with 3D printed models you are limited in the amount of complexity a piece can haveto avoid having time-bomb of wreackage (the pieces having small parts broken) otherwise i would have, for example, made the pistons with real functionality.. instead i made 2 positions a low (showed in pics) and a higher one.

I had not spotted the piston location (it is there, I think it has recoiled) in that photograph.

I understand about the the two optional fixed piston lengths (working pistons are too complicated), I just thought a balanced gun mount would be simpler to print.

I think (ie no proof) that the caeser design is optimised to allow the gun to quickly return to the horizontal position to allow it to shoot and scoot.

I may be missing something here, but if you are only selling the digital files, and these are already done and ready to send out... What exactly are you kickstarting? Why not just sell them via regular webstore?

@major_Gilbear: I would wager is is because kickstarter is an increadibly powerful marketing platform that gives you access to an established marketplace full of interested customers with shiny syndrome and cash to burn. In other words, in inexpensive way to get the word out.

Hello, the goal and stretch goals are meant to be a stimulus to enlarge the sets before officially launching them , 3D sculpts are not free, they are payed work. So to get more models, we offer the already done, which is naturally what most KStarter profiles with more than 1 campaign in their "curriculum" do.. offer products already done, or done via a previous KStarter.

So, back to the subject: update #2
