Nice conversion, although the helmets should be carried higher up according to Trajans column.

I'll have those two ruffians reported to their centurion..The helmets should be on their heads where they belong!   ;)

The helmets are obviously complete heads although I've removed the facial features..however, the cheek guards are not so easily removed, at least not without ruining them. Consequently the helmets have retained a certain bulk which makes it look awkward in the 'correct' position (I'm aware of Trajan's Column and have looked at it often and long, in books, in Rome itself and even more closely the Victoria & Albert in London!). Reenactors seem to wear it lower, more on their bellies than their shoulders but again, the bulk of the helmets makes this look as if the legionaries want to hide their..manly excitement from the Optio..
Result was letting them have it hanging real low on their belts. Maybe artistic licence but at least the cheek guard problem is solved..

Cheers

Fair enough. The Trajans column representation is out of scale and looks awkward. I wonder if it was an attempt to show the helmet hanging by its strap ready to put on quickly?

@corso
Have you seen the transfers for the praetorians yet? I really like the dark blue ones!!

The last two legionaries for this cohort:

Only the cornicen and the aquilifer left and this lot is done.
