10mm Germanic Tribesmen from Van Dyck Models
« on: April 04, 2017, 11:04:47 AM »
Barbarians at the gates, New release: Germanic Tribesmen!

Although some packs were already available on "crisis 2016" last year and some more at the "Hamburger Tactica" we finally (and after much delay) have them available at our online website as well.

Amazing, incredible detail.

Not a scale I play (yet) but I will be getting these for opposing armies for small LADG and Impetus games.  I can justify it because I don't have any Imerial Romans or  Germanics in 15mm.

Will the ranges expand to include more troop types?

It's certainly amazing what can be achieved with the smaller scales now.

As for different Troop types he already does Romans but I would imagine he will continue to design different ranges

Sorry, misread(?) this as the company's advertisement. If it isn't, no Commercial tag required.

!0mm?  :o :-*

That's astonishing. Are these digitally sculpted?

They make certain other leading 10mm manufacturers' products look like crude little off-scraps of metal by comparison...  ::)

It's is but it isn't. I don't have anything thing to with the manufacturer other then the odd purchase.

But I'm a huge fan of 10mm wargaming and try to spread the word

No. Kris and Louis do everything the old way. His WWI range is beyond believing.

Actually he makes these like a stonecutter works, he takes away what is not necessary, not like most who build up a figure with green or other colour stuff. The weapons and equipment he makes seperate.

They look incredible.   :o

What's the casting quality like I wonder?  (On 28mm flash, miscasts and heavy mould lines are a nightmare.  At this scale they would make the figures unusable.)

Picked up a couple of packs of his WWI figures and no flash no misalignement, fantastic figures, now he only needs to finish all the lines he has started with before the summer!!!!

Absolutely no flash and no mould lines. Ever so often and perhaps on one figure in ten, you MIGHT spot a  very faint mould line after priming. Which will take you about 5 seconds to remove with a piece of sandpaper.
Someone already mentioned it but Kris is actually engraving these figures instead of sculpting. That means figures have individually and separately made  buttons, guns, holsters and such. Almost unbelievable.
