At the end of a stressful day, this thread has made me feel relaxed and happy.

Thank you.

Nice rework, how is you projects moving along?

So I cut up a bunch cardboard in 4x4 inch squares to figure out different ideas for 12x12 cork tile, drawing the roads on them, I figured out how to make an overpass that would scale up to 36 inches by 12 inch and that I can have some 4 way intersections that would help make for  a nice layout on a 3 foot by 3 foot table. Still working on a couple of other ideas like river tiles using the straight and curve sections figure I can add a bridge or two.

Everything has been on a hiatus the latest month, due to some 1:1 scale modelling (= renovating my home).

I've been putting up spackle/polyfilla/putty (fine grain sand in an acrylic medium) on old structural wallpaper (in Swedish: bredspackla, i guess it would translate to broad spackling). It's a pretty time consuming and heavy labour. Especially during the hottest summer in Sweden, ever. It was around +30°C every day. I'm glad to be finished.

Your project sounds exciting, post some pics of your sketches (or a link), it would be great! I would make an overpass not run parallel to the other roads, but at a slight angle.

I'm still trying to figure this forum's system out.

Hey I think I got it!

My river concept and bridge

Sorry for the pictures being a little out of focus been like that ever seens I dropped the camra.

So I'm using the 4x4 pieces of cardboard just to work out the concept before I end up wasting good cork tiles.

War Monkey, how nice of you to refer to my thread on your blog! I haven't had time to read it all, but what I've seen looks great!

I like your plans and I saw that you've got some H0 buildings to fill the board. I wouldn't try to make 48 tiles (6x8 table) in one go, though. Start with something manageable!

...this may create a snowball of modular boards for 15mm gamings, that later generations will remember as the Ockman-tiles!  lol

I'm itching to do some hobby work myself, but right now I barely manage to get a few models painted (who lack a tabletop to rampage through), but this gives me a lot of inspiration.

I hope not, since I stole the idea from Spacejacker! Give credit where credit's due!

Still, some of the best things with this hobby are the inspiration, the reinterpretations, the copies, the remakes, the ideas built on others' ideas, the elaborations... it's a living culture and I see us all as artists and our hobby as endless canvases!

I know about not having time (or energy) and all I can say is that there will come a time where you'll be able to do some hobby work. Sometimes you can't wait for it to happen, though, sometimes you must create time for your hobby and just force yourself to paint or build something.

I still follow Spacejacker on Instagram, although he hardly ever posts about miniatures.

He has inspired at least half my projects.

I think Ockman’s stuff is pretty cool, especially the color choices and the cool backstory.

Sorry I don't have Instagram, and sure wish he would start posting on his blog again but it is what it is. In the mean time I have to wait till I have some time to start making my Spacejacker Ockman Tiles.  lol
