I've started a dedicated hobby account on Instagram: @golgothaprime

Thanks, Skully!

It's a little Finnish Swedish troll, that Swedish parents like to plaster their children's rooms with:

Moomin by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

I remember when they use to show this on the BBC, that Groke fella was the stuff of nightmares.

Liking the Streets of Point Breeze, the shrubbery makes it look very idyllic. Though I think Midori needs a Ballistics vest!  lol

My son finds her frightening as well! All that cold and destruction she brings ...still, all she wants is warmth and company.

Nah, no need for ballistic vests if you know how to move. But this last set of pictures were not taken in Point Breeze. They (and some NeoDyne Security officers) were shot downtown in Golgotha Prime's main settlement (which I haven't named yet - what does the United Government say about naming protocols?).

Point Breeze is a gated community with a proper, trustworthy corporate security force. Neither NeoDyne Security, nor pirate scum would be let in.

...although there has been some problems with hipster delinquents dressed in second millennium inspired space suits armed with heavy handguns harassing people.

Thanks, guys!

It is one of my earlier paintjobs, I'm happy with the visor and the white details, but the orange is not at all what I wanted it to look like. Perhaps one day I will give it an update...

I feel like it would be short work to touch up that orange. That said, I like it. It all looks proper and clean to me.

I think the problem is that I tried my usual "base-wash-highlight base-highlight with lighter colours" and used an orange wash, when I should have used a brown-ish wash instead (reikland flesh shade or Army Painter Soft Tone).
It might look better with a couple of layers of reiklander flesh + acrylic medium.

I agree with the orange/brown issue. Otherwise top!

I think brown washes tend to look dirty to me. What about a red wash? I actually like him looking clean and crisp. I tend to like brown washes/sepia for post apoc and grimdark type applications, but I think it would look odd on someone who would be clean. Maybe your hipster wouldn't be  lol

Nice take on the Space suited mini! I have one around here somewhere, he/she/it is a very ambiguous character. Part of me wonders if its even human...

Definitely a hand cannon though..

Thanks, mate!

I've got to get back at building/painting, but right about now, whatever hobby time I've got has been directed at building and painting the moomin house (to my wife and children's excitement).

The pictures are old, from the building phase this winter. Now I'm texturing and undercoating.

I'm building a Moomin playhouse for my kids, its taking forever but its nice to see other peoplw infected with the Moomin bug :)

Thanks everyone!

I've reposted an old picture with a new text on my Instagram account, thought I'd share it here as well!

The Crimson Reavers by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

Pirates! The scourge of the empyrean, the lurkers in the void. Sometimes it's just a crew down on their luck, resorting to piracy to survive. Other times it might be an enormous pirate fleet, where enterprising captains band together, raiding installations, outposts or even entire systems.

When fortune favours them, when raiding and reaving goes well, when losses are small, when bounty and recruits are plentyful, the Crimson Reavers can expand and become a formidable flotilla. When they are less fortunate, when losses are large, when mutinous crews want to split off, when nothing goes their way, the Crimson Reavers will revert to their core crew of six:

Little Johnny (close combat specialist, the Captain's bodyguard), Becky Billions (intrusion expert and hacker extraordinaire), Captain Britney (leader, head strategist), Leif 'Skulltaker' Lurberg (economist, supporting strategist, knife master), Star Reaver Fabbe (most experienced reaver).

Not pictured BIB (starship pilot, brain-in-a-box).

Business trip by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

I'm on a business trip, so instead of watching tv on my hotel room, I brought some minis and paint...

Nice paint work! I love 15mm  figure range, you can get quite a bit of detail with them and you can have a great game in a small space!

That travel paint set up is genius. I don't do too many business trips these days (which my wife and back approve of), but if I have any in the future I could see doing this. If for no other purpose than to prime and block color. Things I find relatively tedious at home. I might focus better on them if I didn't have a room full of projects all calling my name! lol
