The Peregrine at the starport by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

In a civilization as old and vast as humanity's, very few things are actually new. Even if the details might be unique, the broader strokes are eerily repetitive. Ideas are recycled and repurposed, forgotten plans are unearthed and put to use once again.

Although the origins have been lost to time, the diamond shaped spacecraft design has resurfaced under different designations and roles across the galaxy during untold millennia. It has been known by many names: AnkhaTech 'Ace of Diamonds', Lantus 'SoloStar' and Imperial Navy G5 'Zoomer' to name a few.

The ship known as 'The Peregrine' has a long and colourful history. It was constructed at the Sildurian Shipyards centuries ago, commissioned by United Government Special Forces. Equipped with heavy beam cutters and laser cannons, powerful shielding and an advanced stealth systems, it was used to insert elite commando teams deep behind enemy lines.
It was the Peregrine that delivered the Inferno team to the master generator during the Redemption of Cohl, and it was the first ship to cross Bandura's Rift.

After a long and illustruous career in the Special Forces, the Peregrine was decommissioned and sold as military surplus (after being stripped of most of its military hardware). It has since served as a shuttle on the exploration vessel 'The Dauntless', been pressed into service as a rebel interceptor during the Malkov Uprising, smuggled contraband and illicit data-cores in the Daedalus Cluster, ferried refugees during the Axtor Calamity, and much, much more.
It is not known who the current owner is, but lately a ship matching the Peregrine's description has been observed in the vicinity of Golgotha Prime...

The Peregrine has been repaired, modified, refitted and overhauled uncountable times. It's an extraordinary sturdy ship, but the systems can sometimes be a bit fickle. It is currently armed with two gun pods, each carrying a GilgaMech K2 Laser system, comprised of one heavy laser cannon and an autolaser (although the current powerplant cannot supply full effect to the weapons and the shieldning at the same time).

very nice paint job on the ship and a cool back story.
As for the bounty hunter a cloak is a bad idea, have you not seen the incredibles?

Brilliant and beautiful. I envy your lense/glass painting skills. Mine always come out feeling clunky.

Thank you all! Your kind words warm my hobbyist heart!

Horray! Great job on that one, Ock!  :-*

Thanks, mate!

very nice paint job on the ship and a cool back story.
As for the bounty hunter a cloak is a bad idea, have you not seen the incredibles?

Thanks, Mac! Watchmen also addressed the dangers of capes. It's a great way to get stuck (and get killed)!

Brilliant and beautiful. I envy your lense/glass painting skills. Mine always come out feeling clunky.

Thanks, mate!

I'm envious of your mighty modular ships and AARs, so we're even  :D
It's not as hard to paint as it looks, though.

That is a very beautiful ship. Great work on the paint job.

Thank you! I'm thinking about adding some details (markings and/or lines), but I'm afraid of messing up the paintjob...

Excellent work.
Kinds of reminds me of an F-117.
Most excellent.

Thanks, Marine! It sure has some similarities (although I think the F-117 lasers only worked for target designations)!

It's some of your nicest work!

Thank you, Michael! It means a lot coming from you!

I like that  :)

Thanks, friend! Your Star Wars thread has been a huge inspiration!

That looks great. Where can I get three of them? :)

I'll probably draw up plans this weekend, so that you can build one yourself!

Finally, a picture of the Peregrine in daylight. It's hard to take photos in the dark Swedish winter...

Many Bothans died to bring us this information...

Spacecraft plans by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

It's not the Death Star plans, but it's something!

You'll need:

Styrene sheets:
2 mm
1 mm
0.5 mm

Styrene strip
2.5 x 2.5 mm
2 x 2 mm
0.75 x 0.75 mm

Styrene rod
2 mm
1.6 mm

Not exactly everything is covered in the plans (the rear access point is done with 2 x 2 mm styrene strip + 0.5 mm styrene sheet cut to match, some of the detailing you'll have to copy from my pictures)

I'll try to write instructions for assembling it, if anyone want me to. Send a PM if you need a better picture or guide.

You've smashed it here dude, it's come out looking ace.

You could make some separate landing gear that it sits on for when it's parked?

Found a good bounty hunter yet?
