The southlanders are now mostly painted (no photos sorry).

I have got some sea deamon thingys recently (these http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=40635.0) from Manic Miner via eBay, which will join my MODheim fishmen (GW river trolls, Wyrd Slurid (probably) and PP Bog Trogs).

Still thinking about how to do other gnomes without using the AoW plastics (to get them smaller). Not really sure how to do that... lol

It alost apears the Vampire model I had arranged to purchase via this forum for one of the Undead warbands has got lost in the post, which is extremely annoing (along with a cool witch model and some Discworld minis for my other half). Very frustraiting, i'm giving it until the end of the week as it's from Finland (I think) but it's been almost a month already :(.

Hoepfully i'll get to Salute this saturday to purchase some other bits for various warbands (alongwith some more 30mm bases), getting some more wood elf types for certain and some undead cultist types, possibly some wtich hunter types and maybe an earh elemental.

I would also suggest Fenris games Deepones to go with the Fishmen. They should work really well.

So... I just landed another warband into the mix... lol

Picked up some Wargods Typhon spear guys pretty cheap which meant I could spent a little more on the rest of the models (I still spent too much, but nevermind, I didn'y pay RRP at least lol).
So I bought enough for a reasonable warband... no idea what I will do with the musician from the unit though...lol.

Also picked up some wargods Ghouls (very cheap on eBay (£1.25 a model), they will fill a gap in my Gargoyle warband :) I still have more gaps if anyone has any suggestions....I bought the Rackham gargoyles(metal) when Rackham went under so I didn't pay full price for them either lol.

Almost forgot that I picked up some slingers a taskmaster and guard type slaves from Dark age games to go with the 10 spear guys I already had.... so that's another one to add to the list.... Another bargin with these guys, got them at the old price, and discounted (stock clearence at Hurlbat games in the Uk), £5.50 for 5 models (for the slingers, the rest were more, the spear guys I bought years ago, again on clearence for not very much... :)).

Any suggestions for these guys beast(s)?

Hopefully at the weekend after Salute (where I can spend even more money) I can get some photos up of the southlanders in their current state, maybe even a painted dwarf on Monday.

Thankfully I made a fair amount when I sold off my LOTR Dwarves last month so I have some hobby money at the moment.

The Darkage pieces could be used as an insect type warband.

Yep :).

Here are the Southlanders so far, I need to work on the faces more and after getting this far I realised that the Marksmen need quivers... der.. lol.

  • But maybe everything that dies, someday comes back
Maybe just stick a few quarrels into the ground, bowman-style? That's not really accurate for crossbows, but might do as a way to avoid actuallu having to re-convert the figure.

Alternatively, because they're kneeling, you could just put the quivers on the ground, as if they've taken them off for a better range of movement while crouching.

Well i'm afraid i've not had any inspiration this week and with Tidying the spare room for guests and playing on a game all of yesterday I don't have anything new to show.
Painting the house next week (please excuse bare plaster in photos below), so probably not much of an update then either.

But I didn't post these pictures last week so at least I can update on the project.
It boils down to; I have a lot of stuff ready to paint basically:

That metallic finish works very well on the fishy types.

For smaller gnomes, I wonder if some 15mm minis could work or possibly better something in 1:72/ 20mm (Ceasar has some placcy dwarves, scroll down a bit: http://www.miniknight.com/caesar.htm). Not sure how small you want them to be though.

There's also the old Grenadier plastic dwarves (http://www.em4miniatures.com/acatalog/Copy_of_Fantasy.html), not sure how big they are though.
