Too many tanks? Nah, bigger table (New Pg. 2)
« on: December 18, 2013, 11:07:37 AM »
Sometime ago I asked painting advice for German armour. This then is the result. The photos are very bad as the light is dreadful so when better weather comes around...

These are all 1/56, 28mm.

They've come up very well - just the right mix of grittiness.

Are the halftrack crew all stuck together in a clump?  They look great.

Beefy!

Good looking paint and brush work.

You have a major operation, a big do, which is exactly what our collections should give us. Work then play hard.

Well done.

Good luck getting a bigger table, it won't help, I know, we always need more armor. We'll just fill up the table. :)

Ta  :)

The photos don't really do them justice. I'm far from the best painter in the world but they look a lot better in the lead, as it were.

James: Aye, the crew are plugs that lift out as one piece. They're kept in when the halftracks are carrying passengers then removed when they debus and the figures they represent put on the board.

The table is just 8 by 4, Gothic. But I'm working on what needs to be a lot more. But what we do is never a race is it, bits at a time. And a race implies a finishing line...

There are just as many Brits, a rifle platoon and a commando platoon which I'll try and grab equally crappy photos of at some point. Also a sub project for the snowy eastern front that I'll likewise get photos of at some point.

Superb.

Great to see so many 28mm tanks on one table.
