Pulp Alley AAR - The Mysterious Tomb
« on: February 12, 2014, 02:54:36 AM »
Deep in the jungles of a distant island flows the dark forces of a long dead god. It's presence has attracted many over the years but none have found its source... Until now. Pop Top and Princess Tigra have both heard rumor of an ancient temple in the depths of the jungle, but which will seize the power of this once known god?

Pop Top's pirates ransack the camp while Princess Tigra approaches from the jungle.

Jimmy Noh approaches the largest of the abandoned tents, hoping to discover what happened to these explorers. As he pulls away the flaps a hideous creature leaps at him, a mutated archaeologist. What could be going on at this site? (+1 Tip)

Princess Tigra discovers a shallow unmarked grave. In the dirt she sees a strangely shaped skull and picks it up to examine later. (+1 Experience)

Brother Earth rushes at Jo but is unprepared for the fight and goes down.

"She's just got a knife!" Jo and Fingers open fire at Princess Tigra. She throws her knife at Fingers and hits her target dead on, "Gah!"

Tigra creeps towards the opening of the tomb and peers inside, unsure of what it contains.

Fingers, having recovered from the knife incident stands back up. Peering into the bushes he exclaims, "The Princess sure got larger," before being pounced by Shaytan. "Gah!" Jo fires on the beast but it simply leaps back into the shadows.

"Come closer..." Pop Top hears as he approaches the mysterious statue. The native boy whispering behind the statue flees as Pop Top fires a shot into the air. He pockets a strange tome at the base of the statue. (+1 Backup)

Brother Air charges Jo and is taken out by the butt of his gun. Brother Fire lands a blow to the back of Jo's head and knocks him out.

Shaytan leaps at Jimmy and injures him. Jimmy, not being very good at fighting tigers, throws water on the beast. Shaytan is unaffected.

Tigra begins her exploration into the tomb, not being able to see anything in the thick smoke.

Jung attempts to help Jimmy in his tiger wrestling but is knocked down fairly quick.

Pop Top climbs on top of the tomb and shoots lead and curses at Tigra. "Only you would be so stupid to bring a knife to a gun fight!" She fights back, throwing knives and insults at her foe. They are both injured physically and emotionally.

Shaytan bats Jimmy to the ground (+1 Tip lost), is knocked back momentarily by Jung, and comes back for seconds.

Tigra discovers a necklace with an eerily glowing gem and emerges from the tomb with it in hand. (+1 Gear)

We had a lot of fun playing this scenario and decided to play leagues that have been kind of neglected as of late. I hope you all enjoy :)

Spiffy!

Most excellent text and visuals.

Oh, and your terrain [scenery] is top-drawer.

Full of character.

Thanks for the gander!

Anoter EXCELLENT AAR.

Sounds like a lot of fun and seems like that tiger is a really scary adversary.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Excellent as always!

I haven't been doing much pulp gaming the last couple months, but as soon as I'm back from this field project (another three weeks...) I'm going to have to break out the PA and get back into it.

As ever, I'm incredibly envious of the paintjob on that tiger. It's just beautiful.

Who makes the big green mutated archeologist model? Don't think I've seen it before.

Looovely AAR. Nice to see Pop Top in action too.  :D

Also wondering who makes the fishman!

That big green thing is called "Radru-Rashaar" and made by Vesper-On Games. It comes in about 6-7 pieces and is rather pricey, but we got a good deal on one at a convention.

THANKS for all the comments!

HAVE FUN
