Zombie Pulp Alley
« on: July 08, 2016, 05:49:35 PM »
Wasn't sure if I should post this in Pulp or Post Apoc.  Feel free to make adjustments Mods!...Or are you rockers?

This was our first go at Mr. Peabody's Pulp Alley Zombie rule expansion.  Fun!  Yep!  Intense?  Yep!  Fun?  Oh...I said that already...  Yep.

My mate and I made leagues that we weren't going to get too attached to.  We decided to start at "Outbreak" scenario in an urban center (Which has more spawn points than suburban or rural...Nice rule.).  Holy sweet baby Jeebus!  Turn 2...3 hordes...  Both near me.  My buddy made a league that utilized Commander for some extra survivor slots should he need them and I made a league that just started with 3 guys to leave room for survivors.  Major plot point in center of table (Weird antenna on cop car in photo).  A survivor caught the eye of a horde and randomly led them and a bunch more to the major plot point.  So much for that.  We both avoided it.  We ended up with myself getting one minor and my opponent getting 2 (Plus 2 survivors if I recall) for the win.  I lost an ally who turned Deadite and joined the horde that was on me...Doh!  Gained a follower survivor.  It was really cinimatic and chaotic as you would expect from an outbreak scenario.  I did have fun with the Zombie Removal Unit (Long template) as zombies suck at perils!

We both really want to do another soon.  Probably next week!

Please forgive the cars with cute eyes and mouths :-I

Oh yah...  We replaced the madness rules with Pulp Alley Horror Cards!  Whoo hoo!  Love em'!

Also we're going to do some kind of Zombie kill experience per character.  Maybe 25 kills equals one 1st level ability.  If you save up you can buy a two level etc...  Summat like that.

Pictures in the order they were taken.

Thanks for plodding through!

Sweet.

Glad you had fun with "Zombie Alley". It's almost time to 'dig them up' for an edit and a tweak. The Horror Cards seem like a better option than what I have in there at the moment.  8)

I really like having a stand alone zombie ruleset for PA.  Kind of like what they did for 7TV with ZombieTV which I really like.  We didn't want to use our regular leagues for this and thought it more appropriate to create a league that was more modern.

We thought about adding more zombies with the advent of gunfire.  We looked at the table and said "Frick that!" to each other...

Looks good! How did the horror deck go? Haven't had the chance to give mine a go yet.

Horror Cards are great!  One guy had to run away.  The other became determined!

Did you use only the Horror Deck?  My thought is to mix the horror cards into the regular Fortune Deck for "surprises".

The horror cards are separate and different from  the regular challenge/peril deck.  They are used as a failed result in a "Horror" test.  In our case a test was needed for allies and followers as a zombie horde was "Level 2" horror so not scary for sidekicks or leaders.  Though I think we may make a 10+ zombie horde even scarier :o

That looks awesome. I'd like to try that out in our new shopping Mall.
Can you tell me where I can download Mr. Peabody's Pulp Alley Zombie rule expansion?

Many thanks,

Chris
